Tile To Metal Roof Conversion In Brisbane

This Brisbane home had a low-pitch tiled section that had been leaking every storm season. Tiles simply do not perform below their minimum pitch, so patching was never going to fix it. The only permanent answer was a conversion to metal sheeting.

We stripped the old tiles and battens back to the rafters, checked every timber for rot, then laid new anticon insulation blanket before the Colorbond sheets went down. The blanket cuts rain noise and stops condensation dripping into the ceiling cavity.

Flashings are where most conversions fail. We fabricated new apron and barge flashings on site so they lapped correctly into the neighbouring tiled roof and the adjoining patio sheet, then sealed and fixed everything to manufacturer spec.

The homeowner now has a watertight roof with a written workmanship guarantee, and the whole job was completed without the family moving out.
